Ryo Kamomiya was born in Tokyo in 1962, and in 1984, became a member of Japanese pop sensations The Pizzicato Five. Working with them under the guidance of legendary producer Haruomi Hosono and CBS/Sony records, he left the band after the release of their album Couples in 1987, to pursue a solo career.
Kamomiya’s music is an eclectic mix of techno, Latin-American music, and oldies. Today, he works as a singer/songwriter, and composes music for film and television.
"CBS/Sony Records"changed the company name to "Sony Music Entertainment Inc." in 1991.
